How to Save Money While Taming the Data Deluge – Personal Information Management – PIM – Tip – Go Digital
How many of you have news paper and magazines subscriptions? I hope you know you can access almost all of that data on-line, and most of it for free.
Let me give you an example. This week I cancelled my weekly news paper. I have been paying in the area of $8.50 per week. $35 per month. $400 per year. I just saved $400. I still have access to all that data on-line. That $400 is almost enough to buy an iPad2 or iPad3 that will be out shortly. This is an AH-HA moment!!!!
One example: $400 savings. Relieve a major set of issues with my trash. The ultimate recycle strategy is to not have anything to recycle. I am living green. This gives me the ability to justify a new tool to make me much more efficient in managing data and ultimately “Taming the Data Deluge” in my life.
When I consider using the same strategy for magazines and periodicals, I will save hundreds of dollars while maintaining access to the same data via a different more efficient technique. Less clutter in my life. Less expense. Less garbage. And think of all of the other uses for that new iPad!!!
Call to Action: Save money. Consider digitizing you life. Save the trees. Help the environment. Cancel your hard copy subscriptions. Go digital.
